Bhakti and Bhava

Neyveli Santhanagopalan will be presenting a lecture-demonstration on “Bhakti and Bhava” in Carnatic music. He will speak about and demonstrate how Sahitya Bhava, or the philosophy behind the lyrical content, needs to be infused into presenting Carnatic music. He will also touch upon aspects such as the composer’s intent and the importance for students of Carnatic music to understand it.
